I thought I believed 100% in the death penalty but now I am not so sure. Maybe I am too sentimental and take things at face value too easily but this file made me think about who else is affected in major crimes. I watched this film because Scott Bakula was in it and I liked him in Quantum Leap. He has obviously bulked up for this film but he looks good and although he doesn't really say a lot, his presence is felt. Don't read the next part if you haven't yet seen the film. Although I enjoyed the film a lot of points needed answering. Why did she leave the film without her friend, why was she walking home alone, why didn't she call her parents or get a bus home? I think the film could also have explored Jenny and John Burke's life before the murder as well, but then it would have been a very long film. Put in that situation I don't know what I would do, by having one parent totally hating Burke and one not sure (and not the usual way round) it put across both views fairly and made you think about it.
