Satisfying slice of early 70's porn

Open and uninhibited Mary (a winningly sassy portrayal by fetching brunette Fran Spector) convinces her uptight goody-goody two shoes best friend Melody (nicely played by the pretty Patty Alexon) to loosen up and dive into an exciting and eye-opening new world of unbridled sexual experimentation.

Directors Howard Ziehm and Michael Benveniste keep the eventful and episodic narrative moving along at a snappy pace, maintain a likable lighthearted tone throughout, bring an offbeat avant-garde sensibility to the standard premise, and further spice things up with an amusing of ribald'n'wacky humor (for example, an artificially sped-up nude slapstick chase in the woods set to calliope music). The sex scenes are raw, raunchy, and hence highly arousing: Definite erotic highlights include a torrid encounter in an elevator, intercourse on a rooftop, and a threesome set in a high school principal's office. Ziehm's inventive cinematography boasts several neat ground level camera shots and funky stylistic flourishes. The eclectic score alternates between charming ragtime and funky Indian sitar music. Spector and Alexon make for believably adolescent and enticing leads. Fans of quirky Golden Age adult fare should enjoy this one a whole lot.
