... by lending £2,000 to the producers near the end of its production, one of whom was an old friend of mine. I got all that money back eventually, with a slightly better return than a deposit account, so I'm not moaning, but it does give me a right to comment (I'm right at the end of the credits under Special Thanks).
First, the good bits. Excellent photography and acting. Reasonable sexual tension. Fairly atmospheric. Convincing violence. Donald Pleasance's last complete movie (he died before finishing Halloween The Curse Of Michael Myers) even if he only appears for a one minute scene. Sharp and professional looking.
But. Very simple story - four friends hire a remote Scottish cottage and one of them is a psycho - with no twists or surprises at all. I kept waiting for the plot to kick off but it never did. All it needed was some invention and a bit of flare.
