I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to watching this film. My friend brought it round to my house and since it is a silent film I wasn't too bothered about it. But WOW, what a stonker of a film!! It's really heart-wrenching, the story of those two brothers and all they had to go through. I would even go as far as to say it is a classic, probably the best film of all time!! So beautiful directed and they didn't have a lot to work with then, back in 1895. They sure don't make 'em like they used to, that's for sure. Forget Casablanca, forget Gone with the Wind, try to get your hands on the Gay Brothers.
