A Great Game
11 April 2001 | by (USA) – See all my reviews

Crime Patrol from American Laser Games is an outstanding rail shooter game. Although there is not much replay value, you will laugh at the corny acting. It is quite funny to see your "cop" partner run by, pointing a gun at you. Also, stating the obvious about an electric fence saying, "this thing will fry you!"

The game goes through assignments (three in each) from Rookie Cop, Undercover, SWAT, to Delta Force. I remember first playing the Undercover levels, one of them is a strip bar! Very entertaining for a thirteen year old! Parents, don't worry, no skin is shown!

Crime Patrol is not too challenging, you only have to remember where the enemies come out from. It's not too random either. It had a semi-decent sequel called Drug Wars, however I don't believe it wasn't billed as the official sequel. All in all, this is a great classic back in the days when CD-ROM games were just starting to get popular in PCs. Having a game with full motion video and somewhat real interaction was pretty amazing if you look at all the other junky shareware games in 1993. Grab this one if you can find it!
