The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Seeing Elijah in a daze among rows of comics, a store owner tells him, "You better not be jacking off with the Japanese comics."

When the newly self-aware David brushes past an anonymous character at the railway station he 'sees' that the person has, at an earlier time, found a drunken female alone in a room at a party. It is implied that the character then sexually molested the girl while she was unconscious and incapable.

Violence & Gore

occasional moderate violence:

Two kids are held up against their will by a kidnapper.

A man chokes another man to death graphically onscreen, though no gore or blood is present.

A man is hit in the head with a beer bottle.

A woman has her purse stolen at gunpoint.

a character is thrown into a pool by an attacker.

A man with unusually brittle bones falls down a flight of stairs breaking many of his bones.

Profanity

At least 1 "s" word, 1 ass, 1 hell, 1 damn.

A character stops a man whom he believes to be a drug dealer, but after frisking that man, he doesn't find anything on him.

The movie is features strong psychological horror and is very strong for a PG-13/12-rated film.

Out of all of M. Night's films this is the most disturbing one

A train wreck occurs (off camera) killing nearly everyone on board. Only two people survived, and the man who survived starts to die as the doctors talk to the other about being the only survivor.

The opening scene is a character being born, and is born with broken bones. It is later revealed he has very weak bones.

Later a character falls down a flight of stairs and breaks many bones again.

A scene where a character thinks another is invincible and points a gun at him telling him he will "prove it."

A character sneaks into a house and opens a closet and finds two beat-up kids tied up.

a character tracks another to a home, finding evidence of brutal murders. Nothing gory is seen, but the tone of the scenario is very grim and frightening.

When a character falls into a pool, he nearly drowns as the pool cover smothers him.
