a stunning achievement
A.D. Dan25 April 2001
without ruining the "effect," MORNING is a stunning visual delight: capturing perfectly the changing of the seasons..., capturing the sense of Manhattan, and the relaxed pace of North Carolina.

(This is cool, because the film was shot, almost entirely, in a few areas of the Piedmont of NC.)

Great performances from the cast ensemble, and even the atmospheric actors (extras to the brutal)ring true: for all "locales..."

The camera work is, well.......... -GREAT, as well.

First time feature director, yeah- ...sure.

WITHOUT EVEN CONSIDERING THE BUDGET WITHOUT CONSIDERING THE "LOCATION RESTRICTIONS" on a film this size........: GREAT

The daughter of Blockbuster director Michael Mann scores big
FreshBrewedFilms12 February 2001
It seems like a growing genre that the daughters of famous Blockbuster directors such as Francis Coppola score big with films like the Virgin Suicides(which I think was an amazing film). Form Amy Mann, the daughter of Michael Mann(Last of the Mohicians,The Fly, the Insider) comes a drama about a yankee that returns to his southern home after the death of his childhood friend. This film has incredibly gripping moments, spectacular acting, and breathtaking cinematography.
