At twenty-four, Emily's score was one affair, many engagements, and an embittered heart when she settled for Brevoort Blair - the catch of the year. A quarter of a million dollars' worth of gifts poured in. A thousand guests crowded the church. The music began. But no bride came down the aisle, for Emily had left for Europe to find her destiny...
