3 July 2015 7:59 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Mitch Winehouse has revealed that he is making his own documentary film about his daughter Amy Winehouse's life.

He said that he wants to "tell the truth" about Amy's life, in particular the final few years before her death from alcohol poisoning in 2011.

Appearing on Loose Women, he described Asif Kapadia's documentary film as "nonsense", and claimed that his comments were "misrepresented".

He said: "We're making an alternative film, [Amy's former fiancé Reg Traviss] and I. We're going to invite everyone that's spoken on the other film and we're not going to edit it - like they've edited me - and we're going to tell the truth about Amy's life because this is not.

"My grandson, who is 9 months old, is going to look at this - and he's a lovely boy - and he's going to say 'Granddad what were you doing? What exactly were you doing?' If I »

Hugh Dennis expects Outnumbered specials: 'I'm confident it will happen'

2 July 2015 7:45 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Hugh Dennis reckons Outnumbered will return for a number of special episodes.

The family sitcom aired on BBC One for five series, before it ended last year in March.

Speaking on Loose Women, Dennis said: "I think it's completely done as a series - but there will be specials.

"I'm confident there will be specials."

When asked what it was like filming the last episode of the final series, Dennis commented that he wasn't aware that it was the end.

"We didn't know," he explained. "As far as I remember, there were various scenes in the last show and there was one little bit of dialogue, where I turn to [Claire Skinner's character Sue] and go, 'We've not done badly, have we?' And you think, 'Oh, that sounds a bit [final]'.

"But we weren't formally told, as far as I remember, until after we recorded it, which was probably quite a good thing. »

Andrea McLean definitely won't be the next Loose Woman on Celebrity Big Brother

1 July 2015 4:21 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Andrea McLean has insisted that she won't be the next Loose Women panelist to join Celebrity Big Brother.

Nadia Sawalha, Coleen Nolan, Carol McGiffin and Denise Welch have all appeared on recent series of the reality show, but McLean thinks Channel 5 producers "wouldn't get their money's worth" with her.

She told Digital Spy at the press night for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in London: "I've said no all along. For one, I'd be so boring that they wouldn't get their money's worth.

"I've got no idea if anyone is doing it!" she added, when asked if any of her fellow panelists have been approached about the upcoming run.

Meanwhile, McLean said that she has no intention of signing up to any talent competitions this year as she wants to enjoy her summer without being injured, as she was last year while preparing for BBC One's Tumble. »

Penny Lancaster sparks controversy with cookery comments: 'It robs men of masculinity'

16 June 2015 3:33 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Penny Lancaster has come in for criticism after revealing she believes cooking detracts from a man's "masculinity".

The model made it clear on yesterday's (June 15) Loose Women that she supports equal rights, but doesn't think men should be "putting the apron on" in the kitchen.

Lancaster said: "I do agree with equal rights and if women want to go and work that's fabulous.

"If anything, when men come home, I think it's more a case of being more a part of the family, being with the children, spending more time with the children, being a strong role model."

She added: "But going as far as cooking and putting the apron on, I think that... not belittles men, but takes the masculinity, and I would miss that.

"We're different... men are from Mars and women are from Venus - testosterone, oestrogen, we're different creatures. I think you've got to let men do it their way. »

Two well-regarded, nonagenarian British performers have died in the last few days: 93-year-old Christopher Lee (June 7, '15), best known for his many portrayals of Dracula and assorted movie villains and weirdos, from the title role in The Mummy to Dr. Catheter in Gremlins 2: The New Batch. 91-year-old Ron Moody (yesterday, June 11), among whose infrequent film appearances was the role of Fagin, the grotesque adult leader of a gang of boy petty thieves, in the 1968 Best Picture Academy Award-winning musical Oliver!, which also earned him a Best Actor nomination. Having been featured in nearly 200 movies and, most importantly, having had his mainstream appeal resurrected by way of the villainous Saruman in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies (and various associated merchandising, »

Kristina Rihanoff has revealed she came close to quitting Strictly Come Dancing last year due to unwanted press attention.

The professional dancer, who was paired with Blue star Simon Webbe during the BBC show's 2014 competition, told Loose Women that she thought some of the media's coverage was "horrific", resulting in "devastated" family members.

She said: "Last year, I was in a bad place because my mother was suffering with a breast cancer scare and the press were so horrific at that time that I thought that maybe there was a time where I needed to step out.

"[My mother] was extremely upset and she was absolutely devastated to read some of those things."

Speaking about her private life, Rihanoff said: "I didn't come on the show to be portrayed in a certain way or for my private life to be splashed across the papers, because we all want some privacy."

Loose Women's Andrea McLean goes under the spell of Britain's Got Talent's Hypno Dog

21 May 2015 2:08 PM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Britain's Got Talent's Hypno Dog has claimed another victim... Loose Women panellist Andrea McLean.

She and fellow presenter Nadia Sawalha sat down with the pooch named Princess plus her assistant Krystyna Lennon earlier. Naturally, the Loose Women pair looked into Hypno Dog's eyes, not around the eyes, into her eyes.

As seen in the must-watch video, a hypnotised Sawalha wakes up to think she is Janet Street-Porter, and McLean believes dogs should have the same rights as humans.

After causing a bit of controversy last month, Lennon and Hypno Dog told Digital Spy they are used to people questioning their act - but challenged cynics to come to a live show.

Loose Women's Coleen Nolan shocks with gay rights, Isis support comparison

19 May 2015 9:51 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Coleen Nolan compared supporting gay rights to supporting Isis today, as the Loose Women panel discussed the verdict of Northern Ireland's 'gay cake' row.

This morning, a judge found Ashers Baking Company guilty of discrimination, after the bakery refused an order to bake a cake which was in support of gay marriage.

However, Nolan spoke out in support of the bakery, and left some viewers shocked when she attempted to argue that it would be no different to making the bakery fulfil an order for a cake supporting the Islamic State [Isis] militant group.

"At the end of the day, if you went in there and two days later they said, 'We don't want to make your cakes because of our beliefs', you'd just never go back to that shop and you'd probably say to all your gay friends, 'Don't go there, they're anti-gay', and boycott it," she said.

The Loose Women panel enjoyed a special treat on today's show - ice cream made from breast milk.

Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha were among those who had a try of Baby Gaga, infused with Madagascan vanilla.

"It takes just like vanilla," said Moore. "Exactly like vanilla ice cream."

"You know what, it's absolutely lovely," Sawalha added.

However, when asked whether she would buy it in the shops, Moore was unsure.

"It's still a sugary product, isn't it?" she said. "It's a bit of a gimmick as far as I'm concerned. I just don't see the validity in buying it.

"Ok, maybe there might be some nutritious element to it, because of the breast milk, but then you've got the sugar and the other stuff." »

Earlier this year, Jennifer Saunders said that she was resolved to finally get an "Absolutely Fabulous" movie made after years of considering the idea. Well it seems she has made some progress as, during an appearance on Loose Women this week, she offered the following update on the film's script and how it's going:

"I didn't do it for a while, because I thought, 'wouldn't it be awful if it was awful'. But now we're all so old … Joanna [Lumley] says 'do it before we all die'.

There is a plot and that's the miracle. It involves all the main characters and virtually everyone that's ever been in the series, all those characters and we're in London and sometimes we might go to the South of France, I'm hoping. I'm waiting for the budget. It could be anywhere.

If it's a big budget it will be the Bahamas. I've got another »
