Watch: ‘The Boy Next Door’s’ Ryan Guzman Talks Keeping in Touch with Jennifer Lopez
Ryan Guzman has nothing but love for Jennifer Lopez.

“I don’t think I won’t ever talk to J Lo. She’s amazing, she’s a friend of mine,” Guzman told People Now at People En Español‘s 20th Anniversary celebration of their “Los Más Bellos” (aka “Most Beautiful”) list on Tuesday. “She’s always there for me.”

As it turns out, the actor says that his Boy Next Door costar is the one responsible for setting up his Instagram account — though she hasn’t yet commented on any of his posts.

“I don’t even think she sees !” he laughs.

Film Review: Careful What You Wish For

If you've ever watched an “adult” movie, you know of the contrived situations, the cheesy soundtrack, and the gasping bodies. You'd laugh if a lowly movie critic complained of that movie's plot inconsistencies, its horrible acting, or the needless dialogue. So I won't blame you if you laugh while I tell you the many ways in which Nick Jonas's new film, the self-styled erotic thriller Careful What You Wish For, is not much more than glorified softcore. Which is to say that you may very well really enjoy seeing it. I certainly did.

The movie is a straight-up remake of the 1980s cult classic Body Heat, starring William Hurt and Kathleen Turner. Jonas, in all his heartthrob, beefcake glory, plays starry-eyed youth Doug (“Douggie”) Martin, who falls hard for an older woman, his neighbor's attractive wife Lena, played by the impossibly hot model Isabel Lucas. The neighbor, Elliot Harper

Where Are the Women?: crunching the numbers

• only 22% of 2015’s movies had female protagonists

• best and worst representations of women on film in 2015 (and the average Watw score for the year)

• critics are slightly more likely to rate a film highly if it represents women well

• mainstream moviegoers are not turned off by films with female protagonists

• movies that represent women well are just as likely to be profitable as movies that don’t, and are less risky as business propositions

The Where Are the Women? project was designed to drill deep down into the films of 2015 in order to determine how well — or how poorly — they represented women. The project has now come to its end, and you can examine the final ranking here. The ranking includes 270 films released in the Us, Canada, and the UK, in both limited and wide release (including every wide-release North American film and most of the UK wide-release films). The

Rob Cohen to Direct a Disaster Action Thriller 'Category 5'

The past decade hasn't been too kind to director Rob Cohen. The director, who is perhaps best known for directing Vin Diesel in the "Fast and the Furious" and "xXx" in the early 2000s hasn't done much for me to be excited about in recent years. In 2005, he directed "Stealth," the forgettable plane movie starring Jamie Foxx. In 2008, he directed the third "Mummy" flick, which effectively ended the franchise. In 2012, he directed the terrible "Alex Cross" movie, and most recently, he helmed the Jennifer Lopez vehicle "Boy Next Door," which wasn't any better received by viewers or critics.

It's now been revealed that Cohen will be going back to the crazy silly action genre with "Category 5," a film that "follows a team of tech hackers who infiltrate a U.S. Mint facility on a small coastal town to steal $102M in cash, just as a disastrous Category 5 hurricane, the storm of the century,

Jennifer Lopez went without makeup on Friday, Oct. 16, in New York and looked perfect au naturel. The 46-year-old bundled up in a fur coat and kept her hair low maintenance in a top knot. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live this past January, the Boy Next Door star told Andy Cohen that sleep is one of her secrets, as well as eating oatmeal. “That’s something that’s really good for your skin, they say,” she dished. Universal’s ‘Jurassic World’ Tops ‘Avengers’ at Domestic Box Office, But Another Studio Could Still Steal 2015 Crown
Universal Pictures holds a solid edge in box office market share as the midpoint of 2015 nears. The studio’s “Jurassic World” passed Disney’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as the year’s highest-grossing film in North America on Friday. But defending champ 20th Century Fox isn’t ready to concede just yet, and Warner Bros. and Disney aren’t giving up, either. With the latest in the dinosaur-movie franchise gobbling up ticket sales, as well as success of “Furious 7,” “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Pitch Perfect 2,” the low-budget “Boy Next Door” and the even lower-budget “Unfriended,” Universal has connected

Rescheduled! – Tab Hunter Confidential – The QFest St. Louis Review

Tab Hunter Confidential now screens Monday, April 27th at 7pm at Landmark’s Tivoli Theater (6350 Delmar) as part of this year’s QFest St. Louis. For ticket information, go Here

Hollywood can destroy people. For every survivor of the Hollywood system, whether from years ago or any current actors, there are dozens of actors and other artists who crashed and burned, had serious substance abuse issues, committed suicide or never made it at all.

Just from memory I can name Barbara Payton, Jayne Mansfield, Jeanne Eagles, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Diana Sands and Montgomery Clift. For a complete rundown you can’t do much better than Kenneth Anger’s incredible book Hollywood Babylon and it’s even more depressing sequel Hollywood Babylon Part Two. Vincent Price called Hollywood “the most evil place on Earth!” And Vincent Price would know something about evil!

Jennifer Lopez Is All Legs In A Micro-Mini Dress

  • TooFab
Jennifer Lopez has legs for days!  The "Booty" singer showed off her super toned gams at the "American Idol" Xiv Finalist party in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.   The star stole the spotlight in an embellished micro-mini dress from Marchesa's Spring 2015 Notte collection. She paired the look with suede Casadei pumps and accessorized with a high ponytail and a white clutch.  Although the "Boy Next Door" star is stunning, there's a lot going on with this look. For starters, that dress is so short, it could be a top ... and we're not loving the sheer sleeves. Her eye makeup is also two shades too light.    The super short dresses seem to be a trend for the 45-year-old lately though.   She donned a tangerine Valentino mini with matching Versace strappy sandals on Tuesday for the taping of "American Idol Xiv's" top 12 reveal show. This color looks amazing on her! What do

'Night at the Museum 3' and Criterion's 'Soft Skin' On DVD & Blu-ray This Week

The Soft Skin (Criterion Collection) I have not yet written my review of this, but I have watched the movie, just not the features, and it is excellent. The Soft Skin is French New Wave meets Alfred Hitchcock meets the tonal darkness of David Fincher's Gone Girl. I absolutely loved it. The movie tells of a married man who embarks on an affair with a stewardess and the tension that steadily grows until the unexpectedly amazing finale. If any of that sounds good to you, this is a blind buy candidate.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb I saw the first Night at the Museum, though I don't believe I saw the second. I know I didn't see the first one until DVD, and I just haven't found any reason to watch the other two.

The Boy Next Door review: JLo's erotic thriller is an accidental comedy

The Boy Next Door review: JLo's erotic thriller is an accidental comedy
Director: Rob Cohen; Screenwriter: Barbara Curry; Starring: Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Guzman, Kristin Chenoweth, John Corbett, Ian Nelson; Running time: 91 mins; Certificate: 15

She sings, she dances, she's on the American Idol judging panel and, on the odd occasion, she acts. Considering the super-busy Jennifer Lopez only makes a film once every couple of years (her last screen outing was 2013's second-tier Statham vehicle Parker), you'd think she'd be a little more discerning in her choice of roles. After watching the abysmal Boy Next Door, that red-hot breakthrough in Out of Sight feels firmly out of mind.

Her latest has aspirations to be the kind of slick and stylish adult thriller popularised in the '80s and '90s, but ends up imploding thanks to a clunky script, off-key performances and a tone that swings wildly between ultra-serious and camp comedy. If Gone Girl was the perfect example of how to make
