- A brute man threatens to kill the shopkeeper after he violently lends a box of cigarettes from the convenience store.
- A violent fight between Amboy and his mother's boyfriend Danny was depicted in the film due to the former's actions of destroying a car using a Swiss Army knife as a revenge. Many of the residents attempted to end the fight but Danny continued anyway inside the house, leaving the people witness the violence as the boy's mother cries in shock and awe. The fight resulted Amboy having bruises in his left eye.
- A man violently destroys the furniture and appliances that he bought after he was blamed for stealing a huge amount of money from his partner. The scene is considered violent due to the depiction of domestic violence.

- A middle-aged woman in the beginning of the film made a racist remark to an American. She said "white monkey" which is both a racist/discriminatory remark and insult.
- Most of the profanity uttered in the film are in Filipino with English equivalents. One of the examples of Filipino bad words with English equivalents are "lintik" for damn/moron/asshole, "bobo" for idiot/retard/asshole, "hayop" for bastard/monster/savage, and "punyeta" for whore/asshole.

- Tessie (Amboy's mother) attacks Danny with a baseball bat where she violently hits him three times using the said weapon as a retaliation/revenge for maltreating Amboy in the first place as well as having a bloodied face from the past confrontation. In the end, Danny is believed to be dead although he was unconscious as the neighbors arrive at the scene.
