No theme was off limits presenting beautiful nude women and in 1995 (when this was released) radio was a bit more alive than now. All the models here are introduced the same way - name, city, radio station & position - and some of them definitely look like everyday ladies (albeit pretty) that legit come from this industry while others feel like a stretch. The good news is the visuals are on point and there's many nice moments to be found here in 'Girls of Radio'.
"Promo Girls" finds four ladies (Kim Egler, Kat McNenna, Catherine Shaw, Julie Cialini) delivering eye candy as lingerie gets taken off (5.5 mins). "Amy Lynn & Tempest" is the teamup of a former Penthouse Pet and a model who are both called a "Howard Stern Girl" and the scene involves shaving with both busty ladies bathing solo or together and is pretty decent way to start things off (4.5 mins). "Tracy Ray" is a blonde in a hot workout (5 mins). "Vanessa Conner, Malissa Champine" are the two identified ladies amongst five getting naked around a broadcast tower on a set that fares okay (3.5 mins). "Lizz Cufari" has a fantasy first on her desk then underwater shots of her naked before resuming back in her office getting oiled up that I think is always a nice look (4 mins). "Janet Layne" feels herself up at a switchboard before laying on a sports car (5 mins). "Karen Nobis" is a busty brunette who has a country style strip and lays in an vintage outdoor tub that I wish had gone on longer as I liked the sights going on (2.5 mins).
"Jennifer Masterman, Dana Dattilo, Tonja Schild, Jessica Lee" are part of a boyfriend trying to makeup over the radio bit while they have a lingerie party (5.5 mins). "Joy Pons" finds herself in a small airplane fantasy as she poses (3 mins). "Shelly Jones" goes under a bunch of costume changes beside an old fashioned radio (3 mins). "Seka's Audience" is the classic pornstar as a DJ as a separate boy/girl couple watch a sexy movie / makeout / have sex (2.5 mins).
These last parts are a stretch to fit the format going on here, but "Atlanta Tryouts" is a local DJ at a real-life stripclub MCing one lady's chance to win an appearance in 'Girls of Radio'. Then B&W footage of ladies stripping to win is shown (3 mins) before "The Finalists" which is exactly what it sounds like. The winner is chosen along with 2nd & 3rd place and all the ladies are identified by name (6.5 mins). Lastly in an effort that didn't go unappreciated, the end credits feature stills from the magazine's matching pictorial.
I didn't think a Playboy video about radio was gonna have good looking women getting naked in well filmed scenes and it just goes to show you to not prejudge something before the final result. This is definitely one of those times I enjoyed being wrong. 'Girls of Radio' is a good time with plenty of nice visuals making it worthy of checking out at least once. The 'Talk, Rock and Shock' subtitle is rather pointless - there's no hard edge here - but Playboy fans or those with just an appreciation for softcore honeys will be happy with this title.
