Satadal (Uttam Kumar) is a civil engineer with a successful career and a loving wife Madhuri (Arundhati Devi). However, their relationship runs into rough weather from the emotional stress and strain of childlessness.
It is the last few days of the British Raj and the old glory of the Zamindari System is at its end.
