Trivia:

The scene where Drake destroys the mill by accident is partly re-used from DragonHeart (1996) when Bowen and Draco attacked the first village - footage from the first film is used as the mill bursts into flames.

Goofs:

Continuity: At the very beginning, the camera shows a pig moving toward Geoff. When the camera angle changes, the pig is gone.

Quotes:

Geoff:And then we can come back and be more famous than Bowen and Draco. All you have to do is just open your wings and jump.

Regular sequel with little budget and average FX

This following is set in the 10 th century,a.d. and concerns about an orphaned young boy(Chris Masterson) living in a stable, he spontaneously finds a dragon named Drake(voice by Robby Benson,while in the original version by Sean Connery).The dragon is being hidden and cared by a novice monk(Hickey).The young boy dreams becoming a valiant knight and befriends that same dragon and join forces with him to vanquish astute tyrant, Lord Osric of Crossley(Harry Von Gorkum).The young boy suddenly encounters himself the only companion who can save the kingdom.Meantime appear in the monastery a Chinese young girl(Figueroa) and the Master Kwan(Henry O).

This is a lack luster and short budget sequel made for direct to video and TV.Unlikely premise from the first part to be continued in a similar plot, also a last dragon and a young knight that inspire the people to fight for their freedom and taking on tyrannical villain.The film contains agreeable performances and is compromised by borrowing elements from original film. It's entertaining and funny but with mediocre computer generator special effects bringing the dragon to the life .The movie is produced with a few money by Raffaela De Laurentis(Dino's daughter). Musical score by Mckenzie is ripped off from excellent,memorable soundtrack by Randy Edelman. The motion picture is regularly directed by an usual television movies director.It's a familiar film but is specially appointed to kids
