Akira Toriyama Expresses Dissatisfaction With Dragon Ball Super

Recently, Japan's V Jump magazine published Dragon Ball 30th Anniversary Super History Book, a celebration of three decades of arguably, Japan's most famous manga IP. Within said magazine were a few quotes from Dragon Ball creator, Akira Toriyama, which reflected his dissatisfaction with where his beloved manga has had a few shortcomings in transitioning to anime and film. "Inside, I've been upset at Dragon Ball in the past, as well as the live-action film that came later," said Toriyama. He continued, "I've revised the script for the anime film and I've complained about the quality of the TV anime. Maybe someday it'll be a work that I'll like so much that I won't be able to leave it alone." This week in Toy Review Tuesday, we're taking a look at S.H. Figuarts impressive new Dragon Ball Z figure featuring Goku in his first iconic transformation to Super Saiyan.  Come inside to check out my full thoughts on the newest addition to the collection.  

You guys know that I love S.H. Figuarts and when this figure was first shown, I knew I had to have it. This Goku figure from Dragonball Z perfectly captures the first time we see Goku go full on Super Saiyan.  This figure delivers on sculpting and paint quality while also capturing that moment in plastic awesomeness. Highly recommend this on and he's still very available if you want your won.

Funimation and Sony Partner Up to Create FunimationNow

Funimation and Sony have partnered up to release a new streaming service called FunimationNow. Find out more information, including price, below.

Among the many gems at CES 2016, Funimation and Sony have unveiled the fruits from their latest partnership, FunimationNow.  Utilizing Sony's Ven.ue platform, Funimation will now have its own ad-free streaming service, comparable to Netflix.

Beginning in February, anime fans will be able to download the FunimationNow app on their smartphone, tablet, or streaming device (Amazon Fire TV).  Although, it isn't said outright in the PR, we can connect the dots that it will also be available on the Playstation Network.

Included in the FunimationNow app is the extensive library of anime entertainment, which includes over 400 titles like Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, One Piece, among others.  Users will also have the option of viewing these titles in Japanese with subtitles or dubbed in English, if available. »
