Brian Wilde doing porridge
24 February 2010 | by (london) – See all my reviews

Some of the early scenes are set in prison and who should be the prison warder but Brian Wilde, who a few years later would reprise the role in the rather better known "Porridge".Also familiar are Garfield Morgan who was a policeman constantly harassed by Arfur Daley in "Minder" and Patrick Barr who from his list of credits seems to have appeared in every police show going mainly as in this case the investigating officer. It has to be said that this is a fairly routine entry in the Edgar Wallace series, featuring double cross, the smooth villain, and the woman who for no understandable reason allows an escaped prisoner to stay with her.All fairly unexceptional stuff with a rather phony chase scene in a very small sewer.
