I'm Not Afraid To Say I Like It
1 April 2017 | by See all my reviews

Dinosaucers may have a reputation for being a bit campy, but I find a great deal to enjoy about it and am not afraid to say so. It's fun and exciting, with good characters and dialogue as well as a truly awesome theme song. The concept, which may sound a bit weird, is actually very cool and original, although I may be biased since I've always liked dinosaurs. Plus, there are loads of really funny moments on the show such as how Genghis Rex reacts to being called Bossasaur and when Genghis Rex tries popcorn for the first time and says "if we weren't in such a hurry to conquer them, then we'd let their diet wipe them out." One of the things that I personally find really cool is that the Dinosaucers are able to transform into their ancestral selves. The Tyrannos can't transform themselves but are still pretty badass. I hope to see the IMDb summary corrected since it says that the good group are all herbivores and the evil team are all carnivores but the baddies include a Styracosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ankylosaurus, and Anatotitan while there's an Allosaurus, Ichthyosaur, Archeopteryx, and Dimetrodon among the protagonists. The Secret Scouts are interesting as well but I personally prefer the dinosaurs (even though if you want to get technical Dimetrodon isn't even a dinosaur at all and is more closely related to mammals). All in all, a very fun and exciting show that I'd love to see both released on DVD and rebooted. Good stomping fun!
