Storyline

In a candle-lit restaurant, couples dine. Sarah and Don, on their third date, are melting in each other's gaze. When she goes to powder her nose, a brisk salesman sits down next to Don. He's Phil, selling insurance for a broken heart. Soon Don is actually interested in the terms of the contract: counseling, a cook provided for six months, replacement of any albums lost in event of breakup. There's wardrobe consultation, patented lines to feed your friends so they won't think you blew it, and, to clinch the deal, Phil's company, Mutual Love Life, provides a loaner. But, before Don can sign on the dotted line, Sarah comes back from the ladies' room with something on her mind. Written by <jhailey@hotmail.com>

Quotes

Phil Shucky: A broken heart is the only damage for which there is no insurance.
Phil Shucky: I'm sure you're like me and most single guys, you commit a lot of time and energy to a relationship and then, boom, the big breakup happens and you're left holding the bag. Wouldn't it be nice if you had someone to hold the bag for you?
Don: What are you talking about?
Phil Shucky: I'm talking about insurance. My company's been in the business almost seven years exclusively underwriting relationships. Mutual Love Life.

Film Making at it's best!
1 June 2004 | by (Hollywood) – See all my reviews

I recently viewed this film on atomfilms.com and was thoroughly impressed. The extremely high production values of this film are noticeable in the acting performances, cinematography, direction, and the script was genius too! I especially loved the performance from the actor playing Phil Shucky, he was believable and even had me sold. This is completely different from most of the short films on atomfilms.com, most of those are shot on dv, this one was definitely shot on film. The audio was crisp and clean, as was the picture quality, on the internet this is especially good. I love the song that was remastered for the opening of the film. An all around great movie!
