Quotes

Sarah Bryan: First, you wrongly end my life and then you dump me into the body of some chick figure skater? What are you thinking?
Allan: I'm sorry, but it was the best I could do under the circumstances. I mean, you insisted on winning a gold medal out on the ice.
Sarah Bryan: No, no, no. A gold medal in hockey. Hockey! That's with pucks and sticks. Not disco music and stupid frou-frou outfits.

No, This Was NOT a Good Movie!!!
2 May 2003 | by (Fairbanks, U.S. Territory of Alaska) – See all my reviews

Okay.... I'm in shock that so many people think this is an A+ movie. People who do not know better should NOT be allowed to vote! I can perfectly understand some people liking this. Most won't like this but some will... people whose maturity level isn't on par with the national average. The thing is, just because a movie is enjoyed does NOT necessarily mean it is good. This was not good. No. Was not. Tara Lipinski should not even have been in this. Why? She won the gold medal in Nagano... she should not have sold out and retired from amateur skating. When you win a gold, unless you can't due to injury, you should show up 4 years later and defend it. Lipinski wimped out and did not. She's a disgrace to Olympic competition. And she cannot act. No. Can Not Act. Can not. The director did a very good job with her scenes keeping her lines short and not keeping the camera on her for very long, for the most part. Excellently done to save Ms. Lipinski from further embarrassment. And Nancy Kerrigan... why was she there? Why? She proved on Saturday Night Live that she can't act. Maybe she's gotten a little better... maybe, but she didn't have a chance to show it. That was probably a good thing. If her skating had been featured more then her appearance here would have been validated. But nope. And what was up with those parents??? So completely off course for what the usual parents are for a champion skater. These were nerds straight outta Leave It To Beaver. Pathetic. And the guys portraying the hockey players... horrible representation of an Olympic hockey team. Horrible. And where was the Olympic Village? This movie really had more going on than it could properly handle.

Alright now, what was good? Let me first say what was funny: nothing so let me move on. The only good thing that was in this movie was the surprise near the end. It was actually very touching. As terrible as the first hour and ten minutes was it almost made it worth it for the end. But not the very end because it kind of sort of had no ending, it just dropped off into nothing, a complete dead end. Blah. This just stunk. Yes, people can enjoy it but that doesn't mean it's a good movie ‘cause it's not! I cannot grade this as an immature Tara Lipinski figure skating fan. I can only grade this as a person who knows truth, truth about what is a decent movie and what is not. This is not, it gets a grade of D-
