Troian Bellisario Lets ‘Visionary’ Fiancé Patrick J. Adams Call the Wedding Planning Shots

17 November 2016 9:52 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

It seems that Patrick J. Adams has seen The Wedding Planner one too many times.

The Suits star’s fiancé, Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario, told People from a fan event at the new Disney Springs Orlando Origins store on Wednesday that Adams has taken the reins when it comes to crafting their nuptials.

“I’m very, very fortunate to be marrying a director,” said Bellisario, 31. “I am terrible at planning things. He is a total visionary, so I really trust him on a lot of the aesthetic things.”

Bellisario and Adams, 35, were engaged in 2014 after three years of dating. »

The Vampire Diaries Recap: Sybil War

Vanessa Lachey’s evil doppelganger continued her reign of terror on Friday’s Vampire Diaries, pitting Damon against Bonnie, Enzo and one more (newly bearded!) member of Team Tvd.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve lost track of the number of times Damon and Bonnie have tried to kill each other on this show. But it also never gets old, because — as Sybil so astutely discovered — they’ve got a crap load of history between them. Perhaps even some unresolved feelings?

Bonnie insists that’s not the case, but it was »

What’s not to love about Matthew McConaughey? In addition to proving to be an immensely talented actor, he seems like the most chill guy in the business. He’s been a fan favourite for over two decades now, making us laugh, cry, and adopt the slogan “Alright, alright, alright” into everyday conversations.

Today is his 47th birthday, and so there's no better time to look at some of our favourite of his performances. Not to mention that we'll be seeing him again twice over this Christmas, as a koala hosting a singing competition in the animated Sing, and as a man in search for gold in, you guessed it, Gold.

Gold is likely yet another entry in McConaughey’s list of recent films that typically go on to become critical and awards darlings (see Mud, Dallas Buyer’s Club, »

Match the withering review to the movie – quiz

14 October 2016 1:55 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

This week saw critics pan the latest Dan Brown thriller, Inferno, the Guardian included. Can you match the following scathing critiques to the one-star films that received them?

”Napalms the screen with waves of pornographic consumerist vulgarity…dredged directly from Tinseltown’s festering scrotum.”

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Entourage

The Intern

Ted 2

"The whole dreary business drags interminably on, with not a single amusing or ingenious idea in its echoing metal head: a cynical franchisebot, machine-tooled to clank into cinemas and gouge money out of people."

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Iron Man 3

Transformers: Age of Extinction

Terminator Genisys

"Could be one of those rare and terrifying serial killer cases where the psychotic culprit apparently intends to bore and embarrass everyone to death with bad acting."

Solace

Child 44

Regression

Criminal

"Blanchett gives a toe-curlingly awful and Razzie-worthy turn in this tiresome aria of liberal self-pity and self-importance. »

Newswire: Enchanted sequel wakes from its slumber, finds new director

7 October 2016 6:14 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

2007’s Enchanted was a critical and box-office hit, so it’s surprising that additional chapters in the fairy tale haven’t been churned out, especially since “happily ever after” isn’t a hard and fast rule anymore. And yet, nearly 10 years have passed since Amy Adams chirped her way into Patrick Dempsey’s and our hearts. A sequel was announced back in 2014, which was to be written by The SmurfsJ. David Stem and David N. Weiss, though it’s languished in pre-production.

But now it looks like someone’s said the magic words to reinvigorate the project, as Empire Magazine reports that Rock Of Ages director Adam Shankman will helm the Enchanted follow-up. Shankman’s filmography includes 2007’s Hairspray, as well as such contemporary fairy tales as The Wedding Planner (there’s a coveted shoe involved in their meet-cute), Bringing Down The House (in which ...

‘Enchanted’ sequel ‘Disenchanted’ finds a director, eyes summer 2017 production start

6 October 2016 2:31 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

It looks like Disney will indeed give us another movie poking fun at itself all the while celebrating its animated films à la the sly parody of The Princess Bride. Things are finally moving forward on the sequel to 2007’s Enchanted. Adam Shankman is in negotiations to direct the sequel, called Disenchanted, and Amy Adams is expected to return, The Hollywood Reporter posted today. Disney hopes to start production in summer 2017. I’m disappointed to see Anne Fletcher and her comedy chops apparently off the project (Fletcher, who helmed Ryan Reynolds/Sandra Bullock rom-com The Proposal, was previously attached to direct the Enchanted sequel when it was in development back in 2010). But if Shankman delivers a movie that’s as fun and packed with dazzling musical numbers as his Hairspray, then we should be in for a solid sequel. His other credits include the Rock of Ages movie, A Walk to Remember, »

Enchanted 2 Brings Back Amy Adams, Gets Hairspray Director

6 October 2016 12:10 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Nearly nine years after it first hit theaters, Disney's follow-up to Enchanted, titled Disenchaned, has finally found its director. Hairspray and Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman is in talks to direct the Enchanted sequel, which the studio has been developing since 2010. Original Enchaned star Amy Adams is expected to reprise her role as princess Giselle. Although it isn't known if James Marsden or any of the other original cast members will be back for Enchanted 2.

The original Enchanted centered on Amy Adams' Giselle, who is set to marry her Prince Charming (James Marsden) before she is taken from her animated fantasy world and thrust into our real world in New York City. There she meets a lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who is about to marry a woman (Idina Menzel) who is completely wrong for him. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Disenchanted will take place 10 years after the original movie, »

Hollywood Odds: Matthew McConaughey: His best performances so far

25 August 2016 10:20 AM, PDT | Hollywoodnews.com | See recent Hollywoodnews.com news »

We’re now deep into the McConaissance folks. Yes, in the last few years, we’ve seen Matthew McConaughey really make the leap to the next stage of his career, shaking up the industry in the process. With this week marking the release of his new film The Sea of Trees, I wanted to take a look at his best work to date. Even before I started tackling heavier fare, he was someone I enjoyed, but that’s only grown these days. Whether in supporting or lead roles, he’s a unique and talented actor with a lot to offer. The years to come will be very exciting, both for us and for him… The Sea of Trees is a drama about a pair of suicidal men looking for a way out of a forest in Japan. One is Arthur Brennan (McConaughey), the protagonist, while the other is Takumi Nakamura »

Could ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ Land Hugh Grant His First Oscar Nomination?

11 August 2016 9:00 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

This week, Paramount bows “Florence Foster Jenkins,” the true story of a very nice woman who happened to be a very bad singer. Many will talk about the fact that it’s likely to land star Meryl Streep her 20th Oscar nomination, which is staggering. But perhaps even more surprising is that her co-star in the film, Hugh Grant, has never even been nominated.

Maybe it’s not that shocking, considering Grant doesn’t usually make movies that compete in the Oscar race; with the exception of “Sense and Sensibility” in 1995, his work tends to be more populist than “prestige.” But “Florence Foster Jenkins,” directed by Stephen Frears, is the perfect combination of both. It’s a big crowd-pleaser, a period piece, and a true story. It also helps that the central characters are artists – something the Academy loves. The film itself is the first entry of the year that »

Angie Tribeca Season 1 Episode 2 Review: “The Wedding Planner Did It”

1 February 2016 6:29 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Second episodes are the hardest. Doesn’t matter if its comedy or drama, network or cable, live-action or animated; how does a show express its true personality for the first time? It’s certainly become all but impossible on network television, where tradition demands the pilot basically be repeated for the second episode – and even though cable shows usually have the benefit of working with a guaranteed season order, they often still struggle with their first attempts to work outside the mold 99.99% of pilots are pressed through. That second episode is tough to nail; and unfortunately, is often the breaking point
