Parents Guide for
Memento (2000) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A man hires a prostitute, but not for sexual reasons (you'll see why in the movie.)

A brief shot of a man's butt as he runs out of the shower.

Violence & Gore

The first scene of the film depicts a reversed shooting, with a thick stream of blood oozing backwards, blood shown on the walls and floor, and then the shot itself off-screen.

A man gets out of a shower and attacks another man; there is some shoving and tackling, and then the second man is knocked out with a bottle.

After she insults his dead wife, a man slaps and then punches a woman.

A man interrupts a presumed, probable rape and shoots the rapist. He is then bludgeoned on the back of the head by another attacker; he falls to the ground and blood pools under his head.

A woman commits suicide by having her husband inject her with a triple dose of insulin (due to amnesia, he doesn't realize what he's doing, this is somewhat intense).

Approximately 70 uses of f-ck, 2 uses of wh-re, and 1 use of c-nt (both said to irritate the protagonist).

You don't notice most of the language because of the fast moving story.

We see the before and after of a recklessly-motivated beating. Also the aftermath of a bloody killing is seen for a considerable amount of time.
