Great Documentary Series
vid824 January 2014
This documentary series contains 10 episodes with many talking heads sharing information about the rise and fall of the modern day La Cosa Nostra: The Mafia. Titles include: Vol.1: Coming to America | Capone; Vol.2: Valachi / Luciano / Genovese | Hollywood; Vol.3: Vegas | Hoffa; Vol.4: Kennedy | Gallo / Colombo / Bonanno; Vol.5: Gotti | Epilogue; Each title is about 40 to 42 minutes long for about a total of 7 1/2 hours in length. Each episode provides a fair share of old documentary and news footage of the gangsters, both dead and alive. I found each episode very informative and entertaining and well done, some might find the show a little cheesy, but I think it is worth one's time.

Informative Clips and Interviews

This is a pretty good expose on the history of the Mafia. I am nowhere near an expert in such things, but this set interested me as I have read the occasional Mafia novel. The program goes through the history of how the Mafia came into existence. From Bonnie and Clyde to John Gotti it was pretty good.
