During the mug shot montage, Dana is shown holding a placard that says "Metro Police, County of Memphis". A metropolitan police department does not send its prisoners to a county agency for mug shots. The only "Metro" in Memphis is the bus - the police department is called simply "MPD - Memphis Police Department". And Memphis is in Shelby County - there is no Memphis County in Tennessee. Strong made-for-TV effort, not without its faults
22 November 2006 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Enjoyable, with a few nice little twists and turns and with much better acting than most TV movies can manage, mainly due to Marlee Matlin and Regina King. It's by no means perfect - the plot is a little too transparent, it does try one's suspension of disbelief at times and there is an element of over-simplicity to it - but it was a surprisingly absorbing movie even with its problems. A deaf woman is accused of a murder and the lawyer who's charged with defending her has the task of unravelling what really happened; it's certainly not up to the standard of Grisham-esquire courtroom dramas, but it doesn't disappoint.
