This show popularized the "Journalist Round Table Discussion" format used by many other more well more know shows, such as the McLaughlin Group, PBS's "Washington Week in Review" and "This Week with David Brinkley". Several of the Agronksy regulars moved on to those shows, most notably George Will. Other prominent journalist who were regulars on the show included Journalist Elizabeth Drew, the pioneering African-American Columnist Carl Rowan, Time Magazine editor Hugh Sidey and columnist James J. Kilpratrick. Kilpatrick gained fame in the 1970s for his contentious commentary in 60 minutes "Point-Counter Point" segment".
After Martin Agronsky retired, newscaster 'Gordon Peterson' took over as moderator and the title was changed to Inside Washington (1988).
