Greatest Band Ever!
crezcoz9928 November 2001
Letme just say that Rammstein is the greatest band ever! I highly recommend this movie, and all of their cd's. The movie is good, but Rammstein is even better from the audience's perspective. I got the vhs and dvd, because the dvd has great features, and vhs (only uncensored has Bück Dich.

just one word: WOW!!!
Netti8417 November 2001
If you haven't seen this you haven't lived! Six men - one stage - thousands of fans - pure power! This is the best concert I have ever seen. Especially the performance of "Wilder Wein" - without e-guitars - is just great! Rammstein is not one of these bands which don't have anything else but a good manager. They know what they want, you can see it in their show. And their songs are so powerful - you will love them even if you don't understand the lyrics. (But, believe me: the lyrics are the best!)

Hardcore metal in all of its fiery glory
Agent1013 August 2002
Very few live videos can produce the sheer power of what Rammstein can do. With their trademark flamethrowers and high adrenaline stage antics, Rammstein remains one of those cult bands which most people will never get to see in person (like myself). Until the day I get to see them in person, this video will have to be my single concert experience of one of my favorite bands.

the show ... the Legend ... The Myth
moldoveanebun-115 October 2005
Never was there and never will there be a performance more powerful and more passionate than Rammstein Live aus Berlin. There is only one thing better that Rammstein music : Rammstein lyrics, therefore it is forbidden to watch this without knowing the lyrics. I sometimes call it "The Death experience", not because it has something to do with dying but 'cause when it's over you'll have the feeling that you have just seen an entire lifetime passing in front of your eyes. This will be a journey to passion, rises and falls, from heartache to funny dancing, from there to obsession, grief, jealousy, then again hilarious sex toys, wild wine tears, blood freezing and flesh burning stories about the living, the dead, the undead ... You'll never be the same again after you will have lived this experience.

If your a huge Rammstein fan, and feel you've got ripped off by the family values tour 98 video go buy this ! This shows how great Rammstein are in concert. They have great effects, excellent performances, neat shots of the fans, and just makes me say " Why don't they go to Pennsylvania, because I really want to see them badly !?!". I give it a 10 out of 10, and go buy their new CD !

The Fire and the Fury
kevman9116 July 2002
During their 2001 tour sweep through North America, Rammstein played a festival show near San Antonio, TX known as "The Fire and the Fury". Those two words alone summarize what most of the U.S. is missing out on! Simply put, there isn't a hard rock or heavy metal band on American soil that can even compare.

Rammstein's musicianship far surpasses most hard rock acts of the last few decades. The music carries pulsing bass rythms with the searing fury of guitar chords, laced with pounding drums and intense synthesizer sounds. All are mixed to perfection to form a unique and almost deadly fury of thrashing rock that is Rammstein.

Rammstein's German vocals and pyrotechnic show only serve to enhance the overall experience of the fury that is their sound. The shame is that most Americans are missing out on one of the best hard rocks shows ever to take the stage.

Rammstein garnered some success in early 1998 with the single "Du Hast". Yet Rammstein is so much more than a one single band. "Du Hast" isn't even Rammstein's best song, despite its popularity.

Outstanding
willy_246014 April 2001
This DVD shows the pure power of a Rammstein performance. The energy of Till and the rest of the band explodes through the tv, in a totally outstanding performance.

Having seen these guys live myself, I can say that the video leaves out nothing... from the first song "Speil Mit Mir" they don't stop!

Superbly filmed and edited, this is a must see for Rammstein fans.

What Can I say? This DVD is a must have for all those who are into Heavy metal/Rock You will be craving to download more of their songs after seeing this DVD.

They are wearing "interesting costumes" throughout the whole concert, It is Kick-ass music, And the best feature of the performance is the Pyrotechniques. Which include "super-boots" (boots the main singer wears that shoot sparks), The Keyboarder "crowd-surfing" in a rubber dingy, The drummer playing with flares, guitarists signing into flaming microphones, A huge flamethrower and the lead singer set alight with a flameproof jacket on!!! And many more explosions etc...

If you have seen XXX, the band at the start is Rammstein. Other movies they have songs in includes Lost Highway - Rammstein by Rammstein, Du hast - The Matrix

Rock music concert Warning: Spoilers
The title here "Rammstein: Live aus Berlin" of this 90-minute documentary(?) says exactly what this is about. It is a concert by the German rock music band "Rammstein" that they gave a long time ago in Berlin. I would not call myself a fan of the band, but they have 2 or 3 songs that I like quite well and I can somehow understand why they are so famous, also in the United States and abroad in general. So people who love them will certainly enjoy seeing Lindemann and the others in action. I personally did not though. None of the songs really did anything for me and as somebody who is not already a fan of the artists before watching, this will be a really boring watch, just like it was for myself. I am somewhat glad the concert only lasted for 90 minutes, but on the other hand this also is a reason why I give this film an even lower rating. Concert tickets are really expensive and these shows should not be over so quickly because of all the money fans pay for it. 1.5 hours is an insult. I have been on concerts of almost 80-year-old artists who were on stage for 3 hours or longer. Yes this "movie" here is a pretty spectacular stage show, but this cannot make up for everything that is wrong with it. I do not recommend the watch.

Powerful...and entertaining
teaparty1 February 2000
Definetly one of the best hard rock live shows I have seen. Loud and entertaining...it seems the Germans know how to rock, with a capital R! They are now one of my top 3 heavy metal bands. One thing is for certain...if you can't watch this movie with the volume cranked on a stereo...don't bother

Amazing
stonecoldkane13 April 2001
This film is guaranteed to to make any Rammstein fan tingle inside, although "Buch Dich" was cut from the DVD, and that was my favorite song. Otherwise, all of the other features make up for it! A must for any Rammstein fan.

no words can describe it!
Psycho Joe Stratton22 November 1999
When I heard that this was coming out to buy, I had to buy it, seeing as that I am a huge fan of the band. When I watched this, I was totally mesmerized by it. Now after having it for a few months now, I still find myself watching it at least once every two weeks. I highly suggest that if you like industrial/techno/metal, this might be a video for you to check out.

Monumental, Memorable, Metal!
rosendal6917 April 2007
This is a truly great concert from a truly great band. From the first to the last note, Rammstein fires of a wide variety of numbers which are heavy enough to satisfy all the headbangers and melodic enough not to scare of the faint of hearted. Forget all about the nonsense about Rammstein being a right winged marching band, because the truth is that they are five intelligent musicians with more than an ironic twitch to their lyrics.

As for the music,i especially liked the tracks from the " Herzeleid " album, which are great examples as to how melodic and catching metal can be, not least " Heirate Mich ", which is mind-blowing when played at the right level.

The sound is also very good and the camera-work is great. Luckily the camera doesn't just focus on Lindemann, but takes it's time with all the band members, who gives their best to play their part in the show.

So, if you haven't done it all ready. Go buy the DVD and enjoy..........

Rammstein at its best
mariarammstein21 September 2019
This is Rammstein at its best. A concert registration that you watch like a movie. A home game in Parkbühne Wuhlheide in Berlin, Germany with (on dvd) a variety of angles and features, to experience a Rammstein concert at home. They have released various high quality dvds since, but this is the best by far. Fans are and will be delighted, and if you want to introduce Rammstein, this is the movie to start with.

The best band since Rock and Roll began
dcw-1230 October 2007
Rammstein is one of those landmark bands that change the course of music. Now that sounds inflated but it isn't. Rammstein is about pure truth, pure expression. These are not entertainers. Sounds like the easiest thing in the world. Truth. Honesty. But obviously music has so long been about image, genre, self-aggrandizing losers. We had almost collectively forgotten what truth in music exactly is.

Its such a revelation to the music world that almost all music seems false, incorrect positivism, ego driven crap. Rammsteins mere presence on the scene makes most music today impossible to listen to for those with a clue.

Its true artists that connect with the audience and take their darkness, trauma, depression, pain, and weave it into art.

That is exactly Rammstein. And this is Rammstein at their darkest. This is a band that will bleed for you literally. This is no performance or act, this is an artist bleeding on stage.

If that doesn't inspire you, if that doesn't make you want to stand up and be counted, I don't know what will. In every song Till is right there fighting your demons for you. Bringing them to the surface so you can see them. Pure genius, pure artistry. The best band in the history of rock and roll.

Heres to Rammstein and Till Lindemann.

The best concert DVD ever, so far.
rockgod385 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This is without any doubt, the best concert to have on DVD at the moment. An absolute must. It is the only one that captures the feel correctly. Rammstein, being my favourite band, are simply musical genius'. The lyrics are, OK, a bit strange, but are for a reason. I'm sorry, nothing can describe how incredible this is, so on that note, go and buy it! The LIFAD DVD which is coming out next year could be even better! With this, you can be in 1998, at The Barkbühne, Wuhlheide over and over again watching this masterpiece of a show. If you want to avoid something nasty, don't get the uncensored video, if you have a player that is. Even if you are not a fan, at least think about it.

Disappointed.
trey_wolf_4226 March 2000
Get the CD instead. The show is tame, and the editing sucks. The crowd gets way too much screen time, as does Till Lindemann. The cameras spend more time on the same kid shaking his head around in the same way (which leads me to believe it's the exact same shot) than they do during Richard Kruspe's solo in Weisses Fleisch. The scenes change so quickly it's impossible to tell where the camera is pointed, and the replays are simply redundant. Not worth the tape it's recorded on.

listen to the songs, watch the video clips, share their ideas, but specially watch their performance in this show, and let yourself be convinced :)
ArnoldStrong2 September 2001
but.. what can we say about this band? it's a completely new style of music. They formed in 1994 in Berlin, a year after they made their debut album (actually, that album has two songs, Heirate mich and Rammstein, which David Lynch brought to his movie Lost Highway in 96), then they began to be more and more recognized outside Germany (the States are, actually, the place where they have more fans, not counting on Germany, of course), and then they had the bright idea of editing a concert and make it a CD. That concert, in Berlin, 1999, had more than 80.000 folks watching, which shows us about the success this band are having. That´s that concert which we are talking about, and I repeat myself: If you like bands with a strong and powerful presence in shows and with a strong and powerful music, you should watch this! Many people say Rammstein play Industrial Rock, many others say they play Techno/Metal or even Gothic Metal, but maybe better than hearing their songs, is watching their performance in a show and free the devil we all have inside us. That's the point of Rammstein, I think. Besides, the simple fact of this DVD being brought to us, is the proof you needed about how much this band shall be recognized. Believe me, even if you don't give a f*** about Metal/Industrial bands, you should try this one, because you will find a completely new style of music, called RAMMS+EIN. :)

Riding the wave of success...
X80s25 January 2003
...or flogging an (almost) dead horse?

Controversial Industrial band Rammstein proved with this video that a lot of effects can make up for lacks in songwriting - while "Herzeleid", their first album, was like a blow of fresh kerosene to the German Independent scene, "Sehnsucht" only copied the formula of harsh guitars and electronic rhythms close to Dancefloor, trying to add one up by even more drastic lyrics.

Nonetheless, Rammstein became a kind of cult on both sides of the ocean, due to the lyrics (because they were understood...or not, depending on the location), due to their image of the strict and strong German which brought them sometimes dangerously close to the right-wing scene (which they aren't), due to the media hysteria around them.

Lots of pyrotechnics and the exalted show of frontman Till Lindemann do actually guarantee a lot of entertainment, and if you are new to the phenomenon Rammstein, you will be fascinated. If you strip the concert down to the pure performance, you'll notice soon that the songs doesn't differ much from the studio recordings, and the overkill on effects is also killing any spontaneous creativity since everything must be timed on the spot (or it's Grilled German tonight).

Well, I do have enjoyed all three albums ("Mutter" was released in 2001) of Rammstein though there is a notable decline in quality and creativity from the first to the last, but a good concert is a bit more than torching down the stage (for me).
