This show was originally called "Spivey's Kid Brother", and the Stevens were called the Spiveys. The show was supposed to start on Louis' first day as shown in the episode "A Weak First Week." In it you can see the characters saying "Spivey", not Stevens, with scenes from the pilot being shown in flashback sequences.
In the original pilot, Louis also has posters of The Waterboy (1998), Flubber (1997), and for his own movie, "Three Eyes Wide Shut". Also on his wall is a picture of Alfred E. Neuman, MAD magazine's freckle-faced poster boy, and a copy of the famous painting of Kramer from Seinfeld (1989).
