This comment is about The Deep Sea, one of the four videos comprising this title.
This documentary has some terrific sequences. The sequence of Walsh and Picard descending in the Trieste is one of the best I have ever seen in any video. Sequences on free-diving and hydrothermal vents are also noteworthy. Because they are arranged as sequential mini-segments of the whole video, these sequences can easily be marked and shown to a classroom.
I show parts of this video for two reasons: 1) to illustrate the effects of pressure as one descends into the deep; and 2) to provide a visual story of man's exploration of the deepest location in the world ocean, a location currenly unavailable to any man or machine.
