- Essentially, the Annual Satellite Award nominations (now in their 13th year) is some crazy round up that resembles what the Golden Globes usually looks like, and with the extra categories it comes as no surprise that we find a horrible picture like Baz Luhrmann's Australia leading the nominations (thankfully it covers the tech categories and not the main) with Van Sant's Milk and Boyle's Slumdog leading the main caegories. But what I'm taking away from 24 or so categories are the names and film titles that you probably won't find in many more top of the year end honors lists. There are so many categories that are puzzling here, because of the inclusions, the omissions and the badly labeled films in wrong categories (see the Best Original Screenplay below). The shows are from Viacom's MTV Networks and mark the first time that the conglomerate's content will be on Hulu, a joint venture of News Corp. and NBC Universal. CBS, which shares chairman Sumner Redstone with Viacom, does not have a partnership with Hulu.
Hulu, however, is not the only Web destination that will have Daily Show and Colbert. Full episodes of both shows are available on ComedyCentral.com and, last month, Comcast said it will stream the shows in full on its Fancast site.
Hulu now has more than 70 premium content partners and more than 700 TV and movie titles. In addition to NBC Universal and News Corp. content, the company also has deals with Warner Bros. Television Group, Lionsgate, Sony, Universal, MGM, the NBA and the NHL. »
