Salma Hayek Says Harvey Weinstein Attempted to Assault Her: ‘I Don’t Think He Hated Anything More Than the Word No’

Salma Hayek Says Harvey Weinstein Attempted to Assault Her: ‘I Don’t Think He Hated Anything More Than the Word No’
In a heartbreaking new first-person account over at The New York Times, actress and producer Salma Hayek has opened up about her experiences with disgraced executive Harvey Weinstein, detailing multiple instances in which Hayek alleges that Weinstein attempted to sexually assault her. Hayek also sheds light on why she stayed silent for so long, including an honest assessment of why she worked with Weinstein — and, by her own admission, remained “cordial” with him — even after his attempts to violate her in a multitude of ways.

The essay’s title: “Harvey Weinstein Is My Monster Too.”

Hayek writes, “I had brainwashed myself into thinking that it was over and that I had survived; I hid from the responsibility to speak out with the excuse that enough people were already involved in shining a light on my monster…

‘Blade Runner 2049,’ ‘Logan,’ and More: the Genre-Benders That Are Major Oscar Contenders

‘Blade Runner 2049,’ ‘Logan,’ and More: the Genre-Benders That Are Major Oscar Contenders
Every year, the studios take their best genre successes and try to push them beyond the technical ghetto. Oscar campaigners want to convince critics, guilds, and Oscar voters that their movie rises to the level of art. But it’s rare for fantasy, horror, thriller, action or comic-book movies to pass over to the Best Picture side.

When they do, it tends to be an exception like Peter Jackson’s fantasy “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. All three films scored Best Picture nominations and technical wins: “Fellowship” scored 13 nominations and wins for Makeup, Visual Effects, and Cinematography; “The Two Towers” earned six and won Sound Editing and VFX; and then came the ultimate triumph for the finale “The Return of the King”: a grand sweep of all 11 nominations including Best Picture. But while “Lotr” fell into the fantasy genre, it was boosted by the literary pedigree of J.R.R. Tolkien.

‘The Last Man on Earth’ Review: Season 4 Starts with a Bang, a Cameo, and More Familiar, Twisted Tricks

‘The Last Man on Earth’ Review: Season 4 Starts with a Bang, a Cameo, and More Familiar, Twisted Tricks
[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “The Last Man on Earth” Season 4, Episode 1, “M.U.B.A.R.”]

Like watching two sea-doos slowly arcing through the ocean on an unlikely, yet inevitable collision course, “The Last Man on Earth” Season 4 premiere offered a few tantalizing possibilities, but ultimately felt stuck on a predictable path.

There were plenty of callbacks from seasons past: The episode began by answering the Season 3 cliffhanger, in which Pamela (recurring guest star Kristen Wiig) saved Phil “Tandy” Miller (Will Forte) and the group’s lives by shooting Pat (Mark Boone Junior) before he could take out any of the other survivors. Though the visor-splattering burst of blood may have made it look like Pat was dunzo, he recovered long enough to put a bullet in Rear Admiral Roy Billups, Pamela’s former lover played by another one-and-done mega guest star, Jack Black.

TV's Hot Development Trend: Immigrant Stories

As the Trump administration threatens to end former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, immigration has become one of this TV development season’s most timely subjects.

Sony Pictures Television is in the early stages of developing a Party of Five reboot revolving around a first-generation Latino family that immigrates to the U.S. and learns to make it in a new country. A network has yet to be attached to series creators Chris Keyser's and Amy Lippman’s twist on their original iteration, starring Matthew Fox, Scott Wolf, Neve Campbell and Lacey Chabert as siblings in San Francisco who take care of one another after their parents...

‘Swedish Dicks’ Review: Keanu Reeves is a Rare Highlight in a Detective Series Too Goofy for its Own Good

‘Swedish Dicks’ Review: Keanu Reeves is a Rare Highlight in a Detective Series Too Goofy for its Own Good
A funny, fresh detective comedy is tough to do in any language. Many shows have tried to infuse the sordid world of cheap private investigators with some offbeat humor, but “Swedish Dicks,” the latest attempt, co-created and starring Peter Stormare, bases its story in L.A. with an international and bilingual twist.

Stormare plays Ingmar, a broke ex-Hollywood stuntman who opens up an unusually affordable detective agency. Working out of a nondescript downtown L.A. office, one particular job brings fellow Swedish ex-pat Axel (Johan Glans) into his professional orbit. After the two narrowly escape the clutches of a particularly twisty gig, they go into business together. Operating under an agency with the same name as the show’s title, these two Swedes handle their client’s unconventional requests wherever in the city they might lead.

Samuel L Jackson & Salma Hayek interview: The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and breaking into Hollywood

Rob Leane Aug 14, 2017

Samuel L Jackson and Salma Hayek chat to us about their new flick, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and how they got into Hollywood...

Samuel L. Jackson stars alongside Ryan Reynolds in The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Jackson is the hitman, and a key witness in a case to bring down a despot. Reynolds is the bodyguard, tasked with getting the hitman from A to B in order to testify in court.

Salma Hayek plays the wife of Jackson’s character. She’s locked up in prison for much of the film, with the carrot of her release being dangled to make Jackson’s killing machine comply in the upcoming legal proceedings.

We were invited to chat to the pair at a swanky hotel in London. And let me tell you: walking into a room with that much star-power in it is very nerve-wracking. Jackson was sat at a

Fantasia Review: ‘Lowlife’ is Brutal, Funny, and Violently Heart-Warming

An ex-junkie, ex-convict, and luchador enter a fish taco shack … the punch line is a three-pronged adventure through Compton while engulfed by the shadow of a lunatic pimp moonlighting as a black market organ wholesaler. Director Ryan Prows and the rest of his quintet of writers (Tim Cairo, Jake Gibson, Shaye Ogbonna, and Maxwell Michael Towson) bring together a menagerie of monsters, fiends, thugs, and criminals all searching for an escape in their violently heart-warming film Lowlife. Full of heinous acts justified by a universal goal to save the ones they love, every eccentrically drawn character earns our sympathy despite the blood spilled by their hands. With their worlds colliding just as each appears ready to implode, a common enemy unites the hope within to reclaim their honor.

That villain is Teddy Bear Haynes (Mark Burnham): restaurateur to the public, homicidal madman to the streets. The guy has a

Review: Hyper-Violent ‘Lowlife’ Is a Messy But Entertaining Tarantino Homage — Fantasia

Review: Hyper-Violent ‘Lowlife’ Is a Messy But Entertaining Tarantino Homage — Fantasia
Mix the insane violence and weaving vignettes of “Pulp Fiction” with the seedy underbelly of “Breaking Bad,” and you have Ryan Prows’ directorial debut, “Lowlife,” a messy but ultimately interesting look a a group of downtrodden individuals who get mixed up in an organ harvesting scheme.

Lowlife” is broken into four interweaving vignettes that move back and forth through time, slowly revealing different sides to each character, coloring in the story, and tangling them up even tighter into a web of blackmail, deception, kidnapping, and revenge. And the film’s title can certainly be applied to every character in their own right, as each vignette reveals more about their character and the mess they all have found themselves in.

The film opens with an Ice agent pulling off a sketchy, solo raid of a cheap motel at night. Crystal (Nicki Micheaux), the motel owner, tries to step in and save

Action packed new trailer for The Hitman’s Bodyguard, starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson

Author: Scott Davis

Summit Entertainment and Millenium Films has today unveiled a brand new trailer for their anticipated action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard, which you can view in the player below!

The new film stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Life) and Samuel L. Jackson (Kong: Skull Island, Avengers: Infinity War) and thus far the marketing has been making a few loving pokes at the classic 1992 film The Bodyguard including utilising the poster and Whitney Houston’s famous song “I Will Always Love You” to add to the “fun” aspect of the film.

The second trailer, however, goes all out on the action front as well as a whole host of R-rated humour for which Reynolds and Jackson are dab hands at. In the film, Reynolds plays the world’s leading bodyguard and is offered a new job: guarding one of the world’s leading hitmen (Jackson) – but, as you would have expected,

L.A. Screenings: What Seven Major Studios Have on Tap

Here’s what seven major studios have on tap during the annual TV market.

CBS Studios Intl.

Big bets are being placed on military dramas “Seal Team,” starring David Boreanaz, and “Valor,” featuring a fresh-faced cast. Summer series “Salvation” also has a military angle (albeit crossed with sci-fi), while both Jeremy Piven’s “Wisdom of the Crowd” and Alan Cumming’s “Instinct” mix crime solving and modern technology. The studio is light on laughs this year, with just one solo-produced comedy: “9Jkl,” based on the life of creator and star Mark Feuerstein.

Disney Media Distribution

Not just one but four new Marvel series will be on display, including the much anticipated “Inhumans” and the youth-skewing “Cloak & Dagger,” “New Warriors” and “Runaways.” And although it’s not based on a comic book, “Grey’s Anatomy” officially becomes a franchise, launching a new as-yet-untitled spinoff. Shonda Rhimes also makes her case with legal drama “For the People,” while

“Sometimes I go three or four days without food,” Petersen, 89, said. “As long as I have something to drink, I’m happy.”

Aware of Petersen's dire situations, a friend started a GoFundMe campaign to help him get back on his feet. The original goal was to raise approximately $5,900, enough money to help him find an apartment in Los Angeles and to help him with groceries. But, thanks to the generosity of many, the campaign has raised over $33,000 in just 11 days.

After hearing about Petersen's story, Sandra Bullock took it upon herself to donate $5,000 to the campaign. And, wrote the following
