Trivia

Was renamed 'Road Kill' in the UK, since taking a 'Joy Ride' is not the pleasant journey it is in the states, rather the name for when youths steal cars and race each other or the cops and eventually total and dump the car. Similarly, the film was also renamed Roadkill in Australia. See more »

Goofs

When the ice truck pulls into the convenience store, the rear axle is about 3 feet from the end of the truck, as is usually the case for any kind of box truck. When Rusty Nail drives his truck through it, the axle is pushed to the very end of the trucks frame, presumably to allow Rusty Nails truck to drive through it. See more »

Quotes

Rusty Nail: Now they know what it feels like... to be the butt-end of the joke. Your palms sweating, your face burning up. Now they know what it's like... to be the fucking punch line.

Good little chiller
26 March 2002 | by (Woodbridge,VA) – See all my reviews

Joy Ride is a good scary movie. What makes the film scary is the lack of a monster, the villain is a real crazy guy who can easily find you.John Dahl makes the film suspenseful with it's dark tone and swift camera angles and the cast all play their roles effectively. I give it *** out of ****.
