Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped Mike Mitchell to direct the Adam Schroeder-produced live-action comedy The Fraud Prince. Based on a Dan Forman-Paul Foley script the studio acquired in 2001, Fraud is described as a noirish detective tale set in a fairy tale world. It revolves around a young lady-in-waiting who tries to uncover the truth about a princess' mysterious suitor with the help of the kingdom's first private eye. The project is being produced by Schroeder through his Warners-based production banner. Warners production execs Polly Cohen and Kristin Lowe are overseeing for the studio. Mitchell's latest directorial effort, the DreamWorks comedy Surviving Christmas, opens Nov. 24. He is also developing Sky High for the Walt Disney Co. and Super Santa for Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures. Mitchell also directed the 1999 Walt Disney Co. comedy Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
