Review of what and where and when and why?
15 April 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I agreed to certain terms of making this production and playing a small speaking part in it, with some of the stunt work.

I look forward to seeing from the original and subsequent script writer, and the other video film editor, all approaching me, the following:- - Proposed video edit; - Confirmation of rights to utilise intellectual property of the Estate of the copyright characters used by the script writer, commercially, before this in two previous productions which I now understand to preceed these; - Right from IMDb to use these productions and myself to promote products of the BBC and BBC Worldwide Ltd; - Agreement from some residents to film outside their homes in particular ways; - Other credentials relating to the original approach made to me.

I have not yet agreed to be party to its release for this reason and have retained the email message from the original script writer about "Bill and Ben".

If I can establish who Bill and Ben are, it may provide more insight into the structure of the company behind the 1999 telephone call.

The local Government department here were very keen for me to take on the work, and explained I would have to say yes.

The woman who explained that to me, may still work for the Department.

A letter relating one former alleged Actor's Union related organisation's need to not become involved, came previously from the same company.

Having spoken with that Union member previously over a pint, in the year 1999 and again afterwards, prior to his later alleged untimely death, I cannot see that he was sure of the rights either.

I have contacted the British end of the Union, initially by traceable calls from one specific telephone line. I regret it didn't appear to want to know.

I'm 'in the dark', but have seen some edits involving myself in a car park, and some use of publicaly funded corporation premises, which the same company explained it had right to utilise.

With improved communication it may be that I can establish fact. Meantime, I'm just a guy who agreed to co-make the production with a view to presenting it to the Estate of the copyright owner of the characters used to combat the central characters.

I also object to the way I have been used in my view, to promote series and people's income, where not having yet received any payment myself for same either.

To receive payment for work done, if rights were not in the hands of the approaching party, would be wrong if the production was not released.

I'm also looking forward to news of some private personal property from the period, two items which may turn up at some point.

Unfortunately some of the people who were present, some carrying a clipboard, did not appear on the cribb sheet I was provided.

A VHS tape of an alleged edit was on the table in a Wiltshire based household, but I had to leave the place in a hurry after invite by a charity to help it out with a technology matter at least, and when I was offered some after-dinner drugs.

I do know there was an alleged commercial real edit, but again, it's not one I've actually approved yet. That would be the fourth step, for what was a very low budget project after that earlier call to the phone, and a follow up asking me to do some more work also.

I haven't approved promotion using myself, of any of the BBC material which utilises those characters either, and usually you tend to work that into release agreements when contractual matters are being sorted.

Last word I got from the guy who approached, he was busy on a world holiday, and I've no advantage to be commenting on some communications and procedures which followed that attempt to establish fact, come 2003.

Certainly the man with the clipboard is welcome to contact me if he wishes, in writing. I still don't know who he was, but it was very nice clipboard.

With very best wishes Peter.
