Excellent film.

A must see.

I really loved the journey I went on with this film. Not only did I learn so much, but I have a new respect for monumental art and the painstaking work that must be endured to see the final vision come to fruition. With all the twists and turns of this adventure you are sure to come away with a fascinating understanding of the gift this is to the art world and the new generation of Rodin fans around the world. I feel I have a better understanding of who Rodin was and what he was trying to accomplish with this spectacular work of art. I am grateful to supporters of art with extraordinary vision and the ability to share their successes with the rest of the world.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire film. Enjoy!

A film for all ages

A fast pace film about Rodin's greatest creation. I could not believe how much I learned watching this film. It is so well done you don't realize how much of an education you are receiving, making this a great film to discuss at a party. I would recommend this for people of all ages. Younger people can benefit from this wonderfully suspenseful film, they will enjoy this kind of art lesson for sure. A great experience for lovers of art and people who are curious how an artist creates their masterpieces. From the moment it begins you are taken through the twists and turns of creating such an extraordinary work of art. Magnificent! Bravo!

a remarkable film about a remarkable artist

This is a very interesting film! It tells the remarkable story of Rodin, France's great sculptor, and of his contribution to sculpture. Then it shows how his masterpiece THE GATES OF HELL was cast. I am so glad I watched it. I was especially interested in the use of vintage photographs showing the artist in his studio. And the explanation of why Rodin is held in such high esteem today. Then the saga of the casting: wow. What a complicated process that even today requires such technical know-how and expertise. Bravo to everyone who participated in making this new cast of the sculpture. And to this film for helping me to understand Rodin's importance and the difficulty of making art that outlives its creator. This is a remarkable film about a remarkable artist.

Great film.

My children have been studying great works of art as part of their schooling. This was a wonderful film to accompany our project. It gave us all a much better understanding of what it takes to make works of art. I found the film to be fascinating and timeless. Most of the techniques used during the film are the same techniques used today and 100 years ago. Little has changed, which makes this film so incredible. I did not expect to be captivated during the entire film, I was so moved that I watched it again with my husband. I completely agree with the other reviews that said how enjoyable and thrilling the film is while being informative and educational.

Great Film

Wow, I could watch this film over and over again. I can't believe what I learned about the casting process and about Rodin himself. I would love to have one of my sculptures cast and see the process all the way thru. This film will be invaluable to artists and art students around the world. I only wish that I had seen it before now. So great to have it available on Amazon. Now, a trip to Paris, as when I look at any bronze sculpture I imaging what that piece went thru to become the sculpture that I am looking at. It's amazing that the process is virtually the same as it was in Rodin's time. I am grateful that someone took the time to make this remarkable video and get it distributed and available as it is.

A film for people who have never discovered their love of art.

My friend made me watch this movie. I have no interest in art or movies about art. I can't tell you how wrong I was. This movie moves at a quick pace and keeps you interested the entire time. How rewarding it is to find out that I can appreciate art and the work that must go into making masterpieces. I enjoyed opening my mind and discovering a new interest. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. I can see this being appropriate for people of all ages, especially ones for whom this will be their first experience with art films. Well done! We need more people to open our eyes in order to discover new loves. I can't wait to travel to museums and look at sculpture with a new appreciation. I am no longer afraid of art. Thank you!
