Every generation deserves a good giant insect flick, and this one is no better or worse. In it, A space shuttle testing arachnids in space crashes, causing giant mutant spiders to escape and attack a laboratory. Passable flick has okay acting and fair direction. Some of the special effects are good, some aren't. The make-up effects and animatronic spider were good, but the few CGI shots were quite cartoony and uneven. Could have been much worse.
Rated R for profanity, gore, and some mild creature violence.
