A thriller with a tiny budget, short, brief. The effective yarn about an outlaw out of jail who has nothing more to lose and who plans the kidnapping of a rich man. You can find poetry in this downbeat story, inspired by the actual life - and ending - of Jacques Mesrine, the famous public enemy number one in France in the late seventies.
The real ex wife of Mesrine - Sylvie Jeanjacquot - has a little part in this story; don't miss her. I do not remember her exact character.
This movie deserved more than it really collected from the audiences. People avoided this feature. Unfortunately. Let's be fair, it is a typical french, left wing, pessimistic and nihilistic account against police, power, state and anything meaning repression.
But I loved it anyway.
