After Hulk Hogan lost his WWF title match against Yokozuna - his last notable bout for the company until 2002 - commentator Bobby Heenan heelishly declared "Hulkamanka is dead!" It was Heenan's long-time announcing partner and friend Gorilla Monsoon that famously said "Hulkamania is here" following the Hulkster's first championship win in 1984.
Yokozuna defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title by pinning Hogan with his own finisher, the legdrop. A mere two matches later, during the WWE Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Crush (Brian Adams) match, Crush hit Shawn with Hogan's Big Boot and legdrop combination for a 2-count. Hogan was probably barely out of the building by that point, and they were already burying his finish.
Bret Hart defeated Bam Bam Bigelow (Scott Bigelow) in the final. This launched Bret's big feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler (Jerry Lawler), as Lawler objected to how he had worked so hard for years to become the "King" of Memphis and all Bret had to do was win a tournament.
