Trivia

The idea of characters entering on the floating platforms came from the original "Mario bros" game on the Atari consoles, where Mario and Luigi entered on floating platforms after they lost a life. See more »

Goofs

Ness refers to his magic attacks as "PK" attacks. This is supposed to be "PSI." (The Earthbound games use the term PSI to refer to magic, though an early beta version of the game used PK, and this is probably what caused the error.) See more »

Great Choices for Nintendo Characters, even greater game in itself

Super Smash Brothers should be owned by any die-hard Nintendo fanatic. Who else but they can remember Ness from Earthbound? Captain Falcon from F-Zero? But of course, the best characters are, of course, Mario and Luigi! Mario has always been the faithful hero, and you finally get to play as the man, Luigi (watch him groove!).

Please, don't regard this among other fighting greats like Street Fighter or Tekken. Consider it in a whole other league of its own. Buy it!
