This film starts out well and promises more than it ever delivers. The story is similar to as thousand others, featuring a 'drunken' master (not Simon Yuen in this case but Shaw's veteran Chui Chung Hei - who looks neither old nor drunk) with a beautiful daughter up against Kam Kong and his unnamed Monk associate. The long training sequence is rather boring but does feature an unusual parallel bars sequence. The best part of the film is in the beginning when the young thief (Jacky Chen - who also directed) does a good display of fighting with props worthy of Jackie Chan. The final fights are very stylised and not realistic and it's hard to see any evidence of Tai Chi boxing, despite the title. I think the other young student opposite Jacky Chen is Kei Tak-kong. The rest of the cast seem relatively unknown.
