Great story and wonderful performances from non-actors
freakus1 May 2000
Most of the roles in this film were done by non-professional actors (many of them physically or mentally handicapped) and the roles were adjusted to fit the performer. Some of the scenes were even shot without telling the actors that the film was rolling. These factors combine to give a very natural feel the "slice of life" element to this film. Though it is set in an environment of "gangsters" to some degree, it is the simple family scenes that have the most appeal, especially between Kang-Yi and here mentally disabled brother. Actually, the disabled boy who plays the younger brother in many ways steals the show and is the emotional center of the film.
