A prolific actor, Nicolas Cage has 77 film acting credits to his name, including three films -- Army of One, Dog Eat Dog and USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage -- released within a week of each other this month. And while he’s had some notable hits (National Treasure) in recent years, nothing’s quite topped the string of films that helped define the mid-’90s. 

After gaining notoriety for Leaving Las Vegas, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor, Cage followed the low-budget film with a string of blockbusters -- The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off -- and the romantic drama City of Angels.

Oren Shai’s short films have played festivals across the world and garnered praise along the way, but now his debut film will soon receive a theatrical and VOD release. “The Frontier” stars Jocelin Donahue (“The House of the Devil”) as Laine, a drifter on the run from crimes she has committed who lands in a deserted motel on the outskirts of Phoenix. She acquires a job from the owner Luanne (Kelly Lynch) to work in the diner but soon discovers that the regular clientele are all accomplices in a million-dollar heist. Laine plans to steal from the gang of thieves before they discover her true identity. The film co-stars Jim Beaver (“Deadwood”), Izabella Miko (“Coyote Ugly”), Jamie Harris (“Knight of Cups”), Aj Bowen (“The Sacrament”), and Liam Aiken (“Ned Rifle”). One decade ago today, we first learned the story of American hero Ricky Bobby. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby opened in theaters 10 years ago today. Audiences came out in droves that weekend for the comedy starring Will Ferrell as a winning-obsessed Nascar driver. Behind The Lego Movie, Talladega Nights remains Ferrell’s second largest movie opening.  The movie reunited Ferrell with his Anchorman director Adam McKay. The two of them, along with John C. Piper Perabo to Co-Star With Daniel Sunjata in ABC Legal Drama Pilot ‘Notorious’

Coyote Ugly” and “Covert Affairs” alum Piper Perabo has been cast in a lead role in ABC’s drama pilot “Notorious,” Variety has learned.

Perabo will co-star alongside Daniel Sunjata (“Graceland”) in the legal drama, which is based on the true-life stories of famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and “Larry King Live” news producer Wendy Walker. The potential series explores the interplay of criminal law and the media.

Perabo will play Julia George, the driven producer of the No. 1 TV news program in the country, who is inspired by Walker. She’s squeaky clean on paper, but fights in the mud when necessary. The character is described as attractive, strong, but also vulnerable.

Previously announced, Sunjata will play Jake Gregorian, a charismatic and sexy defense attorney who manipulates the media to win cases at any cost and needs to be on top in all areas of his life. The character, »
