Storyline

Naive Raja is employed as a lowly waiter in a hotel. One day he serves and looks after a wealthy businessman K.K., who lends him a suit, and gives him some money, so that he could find a rich woman to woo and marry. Raja thinks Sapna is wealthy and successfully woos her and wins her heart, only to find out that she too is on the lookout for a rich prince charming. She thought Raja was the rich, debonair, and eligible bachelor Rahul Saxena. With the help of garage owner, Sattarbhai all three of them concoct a plot to kidnap Rahul Saxena, hold him for ransom, while Raja takes his place. After kidnapping him, Raja does take his place with Rahul's family, his stepmom, Sharda, dad Dhanraj, uncle, aunt, and sweetheart Sona. Sona happens to be the daughter of Raja's mentor K.K., and this arouses anger with K.K. when he finds out that Raja has chosen Sona to seduce. Then things start to go wrong as Raja himself gets kidnapped, as he is mistaken for Rahul. Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Govinda's one man show
25 November 2009 | by (India) – See all my reviews

Govinda's career was on all time high in the 90's though in between he did have flops but with DULHE RAJA, BMCM in 1998 and in 1999 with HASEENA MAAN JAYEGI he came up

This is his another hit comedy in 1999

The film has a story done to death ever since PRINCE AND PAUPER English movie released in 1881

Anywayz the story is simple

One Govinda is the usual bhasti ka fool and the other is rich guy Raveena thinks Govinda is rich because she sees the richer Govinda and when she meets the poor one she mistakes him for the rich guy

Coincidences and mistake identities follow

The film has several funny moments like Kader interrogating the rich Govinda(thinking he is the waiter) Govinda getting kidnapped and several more

There are also cheap substandard funny scenes like Govinda- Kader bed scene hahahah or what you call the scene when Kader acts like a dog and Govinda becomes a cat The film also has a mix of melodrama with Aruna Irani and her never ending cries The climax is again funny and nonsense

Direction by Kuku Kohli(husband of Aruna Irani) is good in parts Music is good

Govinda does his usual entertaining stuff in the poor guy role and is decent in the rich guy role Raveena does her annoying stuff, Simran is okay Kader Khan is hilarious in parts Aruna Irani is as usual Adi Irani makes a good villain Johny Lever has some funny moments Razzak Khan repeats his usual stuff
