Countess Vaughn had to wear a wig during the first season episodes because the producers did not like her "alternative haircut".
This show was the number one watched sitcom in Black American households for all five seasons that it aired.
Although Nikki is supposed to be 18 years older than Kim.In real life Monique is only 10 years older than Countess Vaughn.

Mari Morrow who played Nikki's best friend Desiree during the first half of the season was never written out and disappears midway through the first season. However, it is widely believed that the producers felt that the chemistry would be better if a heavier actress portrayed her best friend. She was later replaced by Yvette Wilson.

Countess Vaughn (kim) was pregnant before the show started, in 2014 she revealed on her reality show Hollywood Divas that she had an abortion. She said the reason she got one because she knew her show would have been over before it even started.

Mo'Nique and Dorien Wilson are the only cast members to appear in every episode of the series. Had it not been for her pregnancy and giving birth, it's very likely that Countess Vaughn would've appeared in every episode as well.

The Parkers aired in syndication on BET J before that channel's September 2009 conversion to Centric. On September 6, 2011, The Parkers returned to BET after a three-year hiatus and was reacquired. On September 30, 2013, Centric aired reruns of the series. Since September 27, 2014, UP started airing reruns of The Parkers weeknights starting at 11:00pm. Since December 28, 2014, TV One airs reruns of the show.
