This Show Was Funny But It Could Be Very Serious
6 June 2004 | by (Portsmouth, Virginia) – See all my reviews

The first season of the Parkers was the best season! The show went down just like most other black sitcoms. Those "very special" episodes, such as the episode where Chilli from TLC had HIV and Nikki found out that she was adopted were not good and ruined the fun of the show. It was funny when Countess Vaughn acted stupid. Very few people know that one of Countess Vaughn's boyfriends on the show was on a short lived sitcom called "Homeroom" when he was little. But when she acted serious, then the show was not funny at all. Also the series finale was so predictable. Everyone knew since the first episode that The Professor was going to marry Nikki Parker. That whole entire plot was stolen by "A Different World." It would have been neat if the ending would have been like "Who's The Boss?"
