You can't beat a bit of bully!
8 August 2002 | by (England) – See all my reviews

Bullseye has gone down in history (or should that be infamy?) as one of the tackiest, cheapest game shows ever seen on British television, but it has also carved out an unlikely place for itself in the hearts of the viewing public. Whilst the BBC doggedly served the doily-and-crumpets brigade with Songs of Praise and wildlife programmes, ITV gave us Jim Bowen, his unweildy catchphrases ("stay out of the black, keep in the red, you get nothing in this game for two in a bed"), Tony Green and his pub snarler wardrobe, general knowledge questions that would have barely taxed a hardcore truant, first round prizes that even your local pub's Christmas raffle organizers would have sneered at, a cartoon bull that covered its eyes or did a thumbs-up (depending on the circumstances), and the most consistently ugly parade of gargoyle-faced contestants ever seen outside amateur night at the freakshow.

And who can forget Jim showing the losers "what you could have won"?
