Let down by the silly humour

Warning: Spoilers
RIVALS OF THE DRAGON is a silly kung fu comedy set in America for a large part of the running time. The story is about two brothers, one of whom is mixed up with gangsters and the like. His younger sibling is a good for nothing who visits a martial arts master to learn kung fu. Kidnapping and subterfuge then follow, although there's never quite as much action as you'd be hoping for. The fight scenes seem modelled on those in Bruce Lee films, THE BIG BOSS in particular, but they lack the kind of choreography that would make them special. Yuen Tak, a popular Hong Kong martial artist, has a supporting role. Far too much of the running time is made up of stupid humour with cross-dressing and the heroes dressing up as cowboys (while Morricone music plays).
