Okay genre spoof, benefits from shooting on film
lor_25 August 2015
WIth the same screenwriter as Bob Chinn's successful movie about fantasy-sex, FANTASIES UNLTD., SCANDAL IN THE MANSION is a tolerable mystery spoof. It lacks inspiration but at least it plays, something that cannot be said of most porn from this era.

Pic opens with "Pomp & Circumstance" playing, as Bunny Bleu finds the corpse. Criag Roberts is the British-styled detective called in on the case and the old saw of a talky murder mystery, that Don Adams used to satirize so well on TV, unfolds.

Emphasis is on sex, with a farcical tone, and several cast members bring it to life. Lisa de Leeuw as Roberts' partner searches John Holmes (cast as the gardener), finds his concealed weapon and sucks it. Case involves a dead movie magnate so there is some inside stuff in the script. Some of the subplots are still relevant 30 years later: staff is worried about being deported as illegal aliens, and cad Marc Wallice is blackmailing them. RIght on cue Roberts solves the mystery in William Powell fashion.

Amlong the femmes on view Heather Thomas, is a revelation, displaying fantastic breasts in a cast that includes not just De Leeuw but Helga Sven.
