Storyline

Johnny Domino is a musician. While performing for some VIP's he is struck by a lightning bolt. He then thinks he hears things but no one it talking, and the things that he hears are terrible. Johnny is then told by s doctor that his mind can pick up thoughts like a radio picks up certain frequencies. But the frequency he is picking up is the frequency of evil, which explains why the things he hears are terrible. Among the things he heard were the thoughts of a government man who is looking for some men who are planning to sell weapons built for the U.S. to enemies of the U.S. In the meantime, the traitors fearing that Johnny is a treat tries to kill him but fails. Believing that Johnny is the only person he can trust, Raleigh Jordan, a man who works for the government man tells Johnny what's going and shows him the weapons, a bullet proof suit, anti-gravity belt, a cape that render a man invisible, and an eye piece that can emit a laser. A new low for Glen A. Larson. How did this become a series? (And why?)
21 November 2001 | by (London, England) – See all my reviews

Glen A. Larson's fellow '70s TV veterans at Universal (Stephen J. Cannell, Donald P. Bellisario, and most notably Steven Bochco) managed to move with the times and score success in the 1980s and 1990s, but not our Glen; this skin-crawlingly bad feature-length pilot for a series about a Marvel Comics hero (and not even a major one at that) must have fallen out of a time warp from the 1970s. The stereotyped Evil Foreign Villains From Eastern Europe... the clunky dialogue (how did Patrick Macnee say "You're tuned to the frequency of evil" with a straight face?)... the terrible effects (the studio mockup of the Golden Gate Bridge has to be seen to be believed, if then)... the awful acting... it's pure torture to watch. Like the subsequent series (I STILL can't believe this pilot sold, even for syndication), the only good thing about it was the theme music (there was a different one for the pilot). Shame about the show...
