Sterling K. Brown Opens Up About His Historic Emmy Win in Morning-After Interview
Sterling K. Brown can’t stop smiling.

It’s the morning after his momentous win at the Emmy Awards, and Brown is still grinning from ear to ear. Even on just a few hours sleep, it would be hard to extinguish that famous blinding white beam, what with back-to-back trophies to his name. After winning last year for his work as Christopher Darden in “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” on Sunday night he took home the prize for best actor in a drama for “This Is Us,” as the anxiety-ridden but oh-so-lovable Randall Pearson on the NBC-20th Century Fox production.

It’s been nearly two decades since a black actor claimed the prize — a profound fact that was not lost on Brown. Andre Braugher, who starred in NBC’s “Homicide,” was one of the first people he thanked in his acceptance speech. “It is my supreme honor to follow in your footsteps,” he

"Darin Scott ('House Party: Tonight's the Night') has been shooting the film in Cape Town, with newly announced 'Aquaman' co-star (and 'Third Watch' alum) Michael Beach among the cast. But, as Deadline points out, speculation has been going around for a while now that Beach could be the dad of villain Black Manta, who is being portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. And Beach has not done much to dissuade that theory’s supporters, posting a cryptic message on Twitter.

Producer-Director Brooke Kennedy on Challenges of Moving From ‘The Good Wife’ to ‘The Good Fight’

Brooke Kennedy has produced hundreds of hours of television, much of it in New York City. But of all her experiences in the trenches, nothing quite compares to directing the first episode of “The Good Fight” at a Park Avenue location on the night of Nov. 8, as Donald Trump pulled off his stunning political upset in the presidential race.

As Christine Baranski and Delroy Lindo got to work on a particularly emotional scene in “The Good Wife” spinoff — which premieres Sunday on CBS All Access — Kennedy looked out and saw the darkness around the edges of the office-building set flecked with the blue-ish glow of smartphone screens.

“Everyone in the crew was on their phones, and you could start to read it on everybody’s face,” Kennedy recalls.

As horrified as Kennedy was on a personal level (she’s no Donald Trump fan), her first instinct was to protect the actors from the news to allow them

How Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ Became an Unlikely Pop Standard

How Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ Became an Unlikely Pop Standard
Do you remember the first time you heard “Hallelujah?” Was it in Shrek? Maybe on a reality-singing competition show? Maybe you just heard it from a street musician somewhere and thought, “That’s a really nice song.”

It’s safe to say at this point, though, that the majority of people who’ve been touched by the song didn’t hear it from its writer, the late Leonard Cohen. Cohen’s song — like Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt” vis-a-vis Johnny Cash — has become one of those rare examples of a song completely outshining its author as it’s made its way through pop culture.
