Author: repeater from West Springfield

Strong writing and better-than-average acting make "Third Watch" one of the best shows in syndication. As a former volunteer fire-fighter, I'd argue that some of the fire-fighting techniques portrayed would not be employed by real fire-fighters in any circumstances; also, some of the plot contrivances used to integrate the characters' personal and professional lives are treacly as hell. But, all in all, this is a most entertaining show to watch--far superior to "E. R." or "Law & Order"--whether you're drunk or sober.
