Goofs

Character error

Shown the house where writer Henry James(whom her husband confuses with band leader Harry James) once lived, the culturally challenged Frenchy announces that James was author of "The Heiress" (which she mispronounces as "hair-ess"). In reality, "The Heiress" was the title shared by a movie and a stage play, each inspired by James's novel "Washington Square"; James never wrote anything called "The Heiress".

Continuity

Tony Darrow's character is referred to alternately as Tommy Walker and Tommy Beal.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Denny, Ray, Tommy and Benny first begin digging the tunnel, while discussing who can use the drill, Denny appears to call Ray (played by Woody Allen) Woody. However, after Ray has just said to Denny "Whaddya mean?", Denny starts to repeat Ray's question, saying "Whaddy... I don't know how to work a drill like that."

Revealing mistakes

Denny is manipulating the box of dynamite as to allow the bottom to fall out.

The box of "Belgian" chocolates in the opening scenes is clearly a box of Perugina chocolates, an Italian brand.
